- If a person with a "Dependent" status of residence who finds a job in Japan has graduated from compulsory education and high school in Japan, it is possible to change to a "Long-Term Resident(LTR)" or "Designated Activities".
If the person has graduated from elementary school, junior high school and high school in Japan, it is possible to change to "Long-Term Resident(LTR)".
If the person has graduated from junior high school and high school in Japan, it is possible to change to "Designated Activities". (If the person has not graduate from junior high school in Japan but only high school, he / she must pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or higher.)
