As a general rule, new entry of foreigners for the purpose of "visiting relatives / acquaintances, etc." will not be permitted after June 10.

From midnight on June 10th, new foreigners tourist staying with ”Temporary Visitor" will be allowed to enter the country, but it is limited to package tours with a tour conductor whose acceptance manager is a travel agency, etc. Not allowed for individual travelers.
Similarly, new entry of foreigners for the purpose of "visiting relatives / acquaintances, etc." is not permitted because there is no person in charge of acceptance.
However, if the following circumstances apply, new entry may be permitted as if there are "special circumstances".

• Among new visitors for the purpose of meeting relatives, relatives within the second degree of Japanese and permanent residents and relatives within the first degree of permanent residents
• Relatives who care for or support sick or childbirth residents in Japan
• Relatives visiting a deceased or critically ill Japanese resident
• Relatives accompanying people who have difficulty traveling alone
