Health insurance cards will no longer be issued from December 2nd.
From December 2, 2024, the issuance of new health insurance cards will end and a new system will be introduced in which you can visit medical institutions etc. using your My Number card with your health insurance card registered.
If you do not have a My Number card, you can have a "Eligibility Confirmation Certificate" issued and use this in place of a health insurance card.
Even if you have a My Number card, you cannot use it unless you register it to use your health insurance card, so if you have a My Number card, we recommend that you check again to make sure that it is registered to use with your health insurance card.
Having a My Number card is very convenient as it allows you to obtain documents such as your resident registration card at convenience stores, so if you don't have one yet, we recommend that you take this opportunity to get one.
