Minimum Wage to be Revised for Fiscal Year 2025

The minimum wage for fiscal year 2025 has been revised. The revised amount and effective date vary by prefecture.

If an employee's wage falls below the new rate, their wage must be adjusted. For example, in Chiba Prefecture, the minimum wage will increase by 64 yen, from 1,076 yen to 1,140 yen, effective October 3, 2025.
