Be Mindful of Visa Revocation
Except for "Permanent Resident," all statuses of residence have a specified period of stay.
However, even within this period, your visa can be revoked if you fall under one of the grounds for revocation. The Immigration Control Act specifies these grounds.
For example, a person with a "Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services" visa may have their status revoked if they have not been engaging in the permitted activities for three months or more, or if they have been engaging in activities other than those specified by their visa. (There are other reasons as well.)
In these cases, your visa may be revoked before its expiration, or your next renewal application will likely be denied.
If your renewal application is denied due to one of these revocation grounds, you will not be approved even if you reapply. You must leave Japan and reapply for a Certificate of Eligibility from abroad.
