Special measures for the status of residence for those who have difficulty returning to Japan due to the spread of the COVID-19 have been completed.

With the spread of the COVID-19, the following measures will be taken only this time, depending on the remaining period of stay, regarding the special measures for foreigners who were granted special residence.
| Those who are resident with the qualification of "Designated Activity (6 months)" | Those who are staying with the qualification of "Temporary Visitor (90 days)" | |
| ① Those whose period of stay is until June 29th | Designated Activity (4 months) | Temporary Visitor (90 days) |
| ② Those whose period of stay is after June 30 | Designated Activity (4 months) | Temporary Visitor (90 days) |
For those who wish to stay in Japan due to difficulty in returning to Japan, the "only this time" measure in Table ② above is permitted only if the period of stay expires by November 1, 2022.
