Changing Jobs as a Holder of the "Highly Skilled Professional" Status of Residence
When an individual holding the "Highly Skilled Professional" status of residence changes employment, they are required to complete a change of status of residence procedure.
For the "Highly Skilled Professional" status, the name of the contracted organization (employer) is specified on the Designation Certificate. Therefore, a change in the contracted organization constitutes a change in the designated scope of activities, necessitating an application for permission to change the status of residence.
The Immigration Control Act stipulates that the status of residence of a Highly Skilled Professional status holder may be revoked if they cease to engage in the designated activities for a period of six months or more without a justifiable reason.
While many job changes are undertaken for personal career advancement, it is essential to promptly submit the application for permission to change the status of residence when changing employers.
