Starting April 1, 2026, individuals residing in Japan under the "Intra-company Transferee" status will be required to submit the following additional documents:
- Documents proving the existence of the office where the applicant was employed prior to the transfer:
・Official corporate registration documents issued by a public authority.
・Proof of business operations, such as tax payment records, transaction history, bills of lading (B/L), import/export permits, or advertisements. - Documents proving the existence of the office where the applicant will be active in Japan:
Real estate registration (fudosan tokibo), photographs of the office, floor plans, etc.
Previously, immigration authorities occasionally requested photographs or other materials regarding the overseas office. However, moving forward, it is mandatory to present documents confirming the physical and operational existence of both the office prior to the transfer and the office in Japan.
