Points to note regarding permission to engage in activities other than permitted under the status of residence of a “Dependent” visa holder
Comprehensive permission to engage in activity other than that permitted under the status of residence previously granted for up to 28 hours per week is also granted to those with a “Dependent” status of residence.
This permission to engage in activity other than that permitted under the status of residence previously granted must be "not to interfere with activities related to the status of residence currently held".
The definition of "Dependent" is "daily activities performed as a dependent spouse or child of a foreign national residing in Japan".
However, if the income of a person with a status of residence of "Dependent" exceeds the income of their dependents, even if their working hours are within 28 hours a week, they cannot be said to be "supported".
Therefore, please note that such activities other than permitted under the status of residence are not permitted.
