For those who live in Chiba Prefecture and are considering applying for naturalization
Previously, when applying for naturalization in Chiba Prefecture, your application could not be accepted without first going through a preliminary consultation.
This pre-consultation also requires an appointment, and in the past, when you called to make an appointment, you could only make an appointment two to three months later, but recently this period has been extended.
Recently, someone who came to us for consultation said that they were only able to make an appointment six months later.
In that case, you will have a preliminary consultation six months later, and if it is decided that you can apply, you will have to schedule the application date at that point, so it is expected that you will actually apply for another six months.
In the case of a naturalization application, the review period takes more than a year, so the earliest a result will be known is another year later.
Furthermore, if there are any incomplete documents on the day of application, it is possible that your application will not be accepted.
However, the Chiba District Legal Affairs Bureau now also accepts applications without prior consultation if you have requested a Certified Administrative Procedures Legal Specialist to collect the documents in advance.
If you are yourself without asking a Certified Administrative Procedures Legal Specialist, you will still need to consult in advance, as before.
For this reason, if you are considering applying for naturalization in Chiba Prefecture, we recommend that you consult with a Certified Administrative Procedures Legal Specialist.
