Residence requirements when applying for naturalization
As with the permanent residence application, there are residence requirements when applying for naturalization in Japan.
In the case of permanent residence application, in principle, there is a requirement that "continue to live in Japan for 10 years or more", but in the case of naturalization application, there is a requirement that "continue to live in Japan for 5 years or more".
Also, as with permanent residence, you must have a work visa and have worked in Japan for a certain period of time.
In the case of naturalization application, it is said that the period of stay for which you have obtained a work visa and worked is 3 years or more.
