What is “Residence Card Checker”?

With some exceptions such as Temporary Visitor, foreigners staying in Japan have a residence card.
When a company employs a foreigner, it is important to check whether the foreigner is able to work in the company by checking the details on the residence card.
However, if a foreigner uses a forged or altered residence card, companies may end up making the wrong decision.
To avoid this, we recommend using a "Residence Card Checker".
This Checker is distributed free of charge by the Immigration Services Agency, and is available in PC versions (Windows version, Mac version) and smartphone versions (Android version, iOS version), and anyone can download and use it.
However, when actually using it, it is necessary to obtain the consent of the person in question.
