I went to the Kathina Festival, which was held on November 3rd.
The Kathin Festival is a Buddhist event held in Thailand, where monks are presented with robes.
In Japan, the festival was held on November 3rd at the Watpaknam Japanese Betsuin in Narita City, and was a great success, with many Thai people attending from not only Chiba Prefecture but also from far away.
Due to our connection with handling an application for the renewal of status or residence for a monk dispatched from Thailand, we were invited to the Kathin Festival on November 3rd, and went there with two members of the Chiba Visa Support Station.
It is said that visitors can accumulate virtue by praying at the branch temple and making donations, and also by serving meals to other visitors, so many people offered prayers, offered monk's robes, made donations, and were treated to free meals.
On the day, despite his busy schedule, we were able to meet the monk through whom we had processed our application, and not only was we treated to a delicious meal, but we also received some amulets, which was an unforgettable and valuable experience for us.
