Companies that accept Specified Skilled Worker must submit a "cooperation confirmation".
From April 1, 2025, affiliated institutions that accept foreigners with specified skills must submit a "cooperation confirmation" to the local government where the foreigner works, and to the local government where the foreigner lives.
This "cooperation confirmation" is a promise to provide necessary cooperation when a local government asks for cooperation in a coexistence policy.
The timing for submitting a "cooperation confirmation" is as follows:
- When accepting a Specified Skilled Worker for the first time
After signing a employment contract with the foreigner, before applying for a certificate of eligibility or change of status of residence - If you have already accepted Specified Skilled Worker
After the effective date, before applying for a change of status of residence or extension of period of stay
Please see below for the key changes.
