Important Considerations for Permanent Resident Applications by "Business Manager" Status of Residence Holders
AKIRA YAMAMOTO.AKIRAThe requirements for a new application for the "Business Manager" Status of Residence have been revised. The capital/total investment requirement, among others, has been changed from the conventional 5 million yen or more to 30 million yen or more, and new requirements have also been added.
Current holders of the "Business Manager" Status of Residence are required to meet these new standards by the time of their next application for extension/renewal after October 16, Reiwa 10 (2028).
However, if you apply for Permanent Resident status, you cannot submit the application unless you meet all of these new requirements at the time of the Permanent Resident application.
If you are considering applying for Permanent Resident status, you must first check whether you meet the new "Business Manager" Status of Residence requirements.
